Have you ever had a friend who dumped all their problems on you, like your life is so fucking perfect? I just recently ( and regrettably) got back in touch with a friend who is doing just that to me. All he's done in the last two days is basically tell me how much he and his wife are up Shit Creek. I don't wanna hear it anymore! And he texts me too! It's irritating!

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a completely heartless bitch. Not completely...

But what is really the point of sharing all that useless information, other than to make your friends worry? I can't do anything about their situation, and there is no way they are living with me or anything like that. I like to help people, but I have my own problems, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

So for those of you who "dump" on your friends (you know you are), STOP IT. It's just selfish and annoying. Figure your own life out, fix your own problems.

Nobody said life would be easy.

But ALL THE TIME, with the problems? I don't even feel like I can share any of MY issues!

There is a difference in being a friend and being a counselor or therapist.

For the poster above: friends are there for each other true, but that doesn't mean dumping all your problems onto someone.

Friends need to be able to know they can go see someone and just relax, forget their problems for a bit. Sure advice and talking about something is fine and even encouraged, but to dump everything on someone is just unfair. Life isn't just shitty to one person.
